Media Sources

The media can play an important role in economics. There are many articles published everyday that are related to economics. Students should have a wide range of sources that are continually updated. These sources should be from newspapers, periodicals and the Internet, in order to be up to date with the ever changing world of economics. Students need to gather this wide genre of information to support arguments, as well as being able to apply current examples. The Sydney Morning Herald and Australian Financial Review sites offer valuable articles relating to economics daily, as well as providing an archive search to find previous articles.  The Economist is a periodical that is regularly updated and provides articles on current economic events from around the world. The media can be an invaluable source of information in your study of economics.

NSW Board of Studies

The Board of Studies site provides a copy of the economics syllabus, support documents, a sample examination paper and past exam papers and comments on these papers. This is an excellent source of information for students who can find out what the examiners are expecting from them.
