Programmes for 2010

In 2010 we will be offering 2 programmes:

In-schools Programme:

Peace educators will be available to work in schools or community libraries to support teachers and librarians integrate peace-building stories into their programmes. Schools will be able to engage their staffs in 6 x 1hr workshop sessions after May 2010.

Trial the Peacebuilding Storytelling Guide

Peace-building Camp Programme:

From January 2010 the Foundation will be offering peace-building camp programmes to youth identified as needing support in developing lifeskills. Partnerships have bene developedt. Contact us if you are interested in knowing more about the camp programmes, their purposes and the activities undertaken. info@tlpeace.org.au

Classroom Activity using Moodle:

Turtle Dreaming - exploring the plight of the Murray River in a story about the snake-necked turtle and its struggle for survival.

It is a peace-building story with activities for children and adults to explore together.

OzProjects is hosting this story presented using Moodle as a peace-building activity. 

 

Peace-building Activities in Adelaide communities

Peace-building Storysharers Workshops:

We will again be offering free peace-building story workshops to teachers, librarians, parents and communities beginning in May 2010. At the workshops you will be able to learn how to use the peace-building elements when choosing stories to share with children. These workshops will be free.

Peace-building Story Bookpacks:

We will again be applying for grants to place free bookpacks in schools, community libraries, hospitals, child care centres and community centres. Bookpacks can be purchased at Mostly Books. Please contact us if you wish to support our Bookpack Programme.
