Greens Councillor Murray Matson attended the 8am community meeting this morning at the Dunningham Reserve amenities block site.
He said afterwards.
"Local residents detailed to me the views losses they fear will eventuate if the ramp and staff room components of the proposal go ahead.
They pointed out that a lot of visitors can presently look south over Coogee Beach past the existing block while using the walkway adjacent to it.
I have to admit that I think that residents have a valid issue although I say that with out having had the benefit of reading the final assessment report for the development application.
I will obviously wait with interest to read how the issue of view loss is assessed by Council Officers.
I am though already on record as having advised staff and other Councillors during the recent draft budget discussions that I think we could save the money for something else."
