Heffron Park Sporting Upgrade: Maroubra MP's Electoral
Office Misleading Residents
over Greens Position
Greens Councillor Murray Matson
claims that a circular sent out by Labor MP Michael Daley using his
Maroubra electoral office resources has mislead residents over the
Greens position on Heffron Park.
He claims that the letter
"strongly implies" that the Greens support high rise
development despite Daley knowing that the local Green group had
formerly resolved in early June to oppose it.
Cr Matson
describes the letter that is dated the 26th June as,
“...a
diabolical misuse of Michael Daley's electoral office funds that
publically throws doubt on the clear position of the Greens to oppose
residential development."
Cr Matson claims that Daley
would have known the Greens resolved position prior to distributing
his letter.
Cr Matson elaborated,
“The Labor MP
for Marourbra knew full well that the local Greens don't support high
rise development at Heffron Park because the Southern Courier
newspaper reported so on page 3 of its' 20th June edition.
Now
don't try to tell me that a local MP does not read the only local
newspaper distributed in his electorate.
Despite this
knowledge, Cr Daley's electoral office has used taxpayer's dollars to
send out this misleading letter to his Maroubra constituents.
